Out Of Pocket started by accident. What began as a stumbled-into hobby turned — fast — into a full-blown passion project. It turns out that making candles and soaps that smell good and work well is far more interesting than I ever expected, and it quickly became the creative outlet I didn't know I needed after the 9-to-5.

The goal has been the same since day one: find great fragrances and turn them into fun candles and soaps that help you unwind, relax, and — every now and then — take you somewhere else entirely.

Everything here is made by hand in Philadelphia, in small batches: candles poured one at a time, soaps cut by hand and cured for weeks. No factory, no shortcuts.

As for the name — some of our scents are classics, and some are a little out of pocket. That's the fun part.
